The sword Ana carries was made by demon craftsmen, the so called elite of all sword makers. Rayvin decides to take her to hell as back up when she finds out that Ana is able to wield the sword. Only an immortal could even dream of touching it. Rayvin found this out when she got Ana's fierce temper going, and the sword started to flame.

Later on in the tale, as more familiaritys pop up, Ana begins to have periods where she is lost in memorys she never had. One is were she begins to play with Kyheems heirlooms from her family, and she breaks a picture of Kyheem great-grandmother from the human world.

Rayvin is told as a child that her father was a human who traveled from his world, and then left again after a night of passion. But she keeps dreaming of a hole in the ground at night where flames keep jumping to the shy.

Though she is only half vampire, Syndic still prefers to wander the night. It is her who finds Ana wandering like her in the jungles. She brings her to her friend Rayvin as a possible offering to Sarath when they go to hell.
